#119/365 Comic Relief

My co-worker and friend, Hollie and I. Hmmm...what are we doing?

Trying hard to make this photo a self-portrait and not doing too well. Lots of giggles, though.

Oh! That's where we are!
Taking our pictures in the World's Largest Skillet in Brandon, Iowa. haha

We finally had to place the camera on top of the car and use the self-timer.
Yeah. That was comedy, too.

Nothing funnier than an almost 50 year old woman, with asthma and high BP, running to and fro, in her orthopedic heels, trying to work her low-budget technology.

I've always wondered if this sort of scene doesn't get old for the people living next door. ::snort::

#117/365 Heaven on Earth

Oh Em Gee.

Do not walk.

RUN to get one of these concrete mixer raspberry cheesecake shakes at Culver'$ before they are no longer available.

Mark and I split one and wow!! Real pieces of creamy cheesecake, tons of raspberries and even the graham cracker crust all mixed together into their custard-y ice cream. (insert embarrassingly satisfied food-eating noises)

And Vicky? I don't even wanna KNOW how many WW points this is. LOL

#116/365 Shameful

We have a dog. We have white carpet. NOT a winning combination.

This weekend the hubs and I had had it. He went and bought a Bissell ProHeat 2. The water and gunk that was cleaned and sucked up was so nasty I could not bear to have anyone else see. So, yeah. No pictures.

Seems to have done a nice job. Whew.

Mark says now, we can let the dog LIVE!! LOL

#115/365 Grease is the Word

Saturday night, we had the fun opportunity to go and see our local high school's first musical, since the renovation of the school's auditorium.

The students did such a great job, from the set design, to the singing, to the choreography, to the costumes and makeup, it was all impressive.

If you want a reason to believe that there are good kids out there, attending public schools and doing great things, just attend a fine arts, sports, or music production at your local high school.

It will help restore your belief in young people.

And make you laugh and remember when you were one of them.

(photos borrowed from a high school student, whom I would name here, but that would be pointless-lol)

April 12th-ish

April 20th.

Is this progress? Maybe?

The doc did say that most people do not get by with just one BP med.

Anyone know, firsthand, if that is true?

#114/365 Rewarding Myself

Some weeks you need to reward yourself...just because you made it til Friday. This was one of those weeks.

This is a cute, newish store in a nearby town. They have a FB page. If you are in NE Iowa, I recommend you stop by for a look.

I bought a cute birthday gift for a friend...

A snarky feminine hygiene product holder that made me laugh and think of my daughter, so guess what she's getting? lol

And a niftykeen bead necklace, long enough for looping for me. The beads are made from paper by women in Uganda, Africa.

Love the Suubi (which I think, means "hope"). Check them out, as well.

You're welcome.

#112/365 Foot Freedom

I love me some foot freedom.

And shoes.

And sandals.

If you get sick of seeing my monkey feet, I guess you'll have to tell me.

Not that I care. Just kidding. I care.

Although, I do think it would be rude of you to hate on my monkey feet.

Don't you?

111/365 A Little Mid-Week Pick-Me-Up at the Drive-Through

The most hyphenated words in a Blog Post Title, aka the Sonic Fresh Fruit Strawberry Slushie.

I got me a big 'un.

And I slurped on it for 30 minutes.

So much so and for so long, that my co-workers remarked that my lips had turned blue. haha

Summer is on its way.

#110/365 One of the Only Things that Used to Make Me Curse My (former) Single Parent Status

My Big Bad Bugger Sucker made by Discovery Kids.

Heh heh

I feel powerful with this badboy.

Look at that NASTY thing. ^^^^^
(click on either photograph to enlarge and get up close and personal)

I especially HATE spiders, at night, darting about unpredictably on my living room carpet.

And I really, especially HATE, HATE, HATE spiders, darting about unpredictably on my living room carpet, when my husband ain't home.

Thus, the BIG BAD BUG SUCKER was purchased.

And no, the grandson cannot play with this.

The Big Bad Bug Sucker is not a TOY. lol

#109/365 My (shallow) Life is Now Complete

Woke up one day and thought that I must have a new orange purse or I would die.

So, there was this piece of sweetness at a local consignment store, for the low, low price of 7 bucks, just begging to go home with me.

And it was like, FATE, you know?

How could I refuse? (chuckles)

#108/365 Ooopsydoodle

Looks like someone will be adding another medication (or two?) to her daily regimen.

(ps "Ooospsydoodle" is one of my favorite new made-up swear words---like it?)

Sunday Funny

Other than the ridiculously unattainable measurements, I resemble that woman. haha

#107/365 Mmmm...Taco Bar

This is the pot of yumminess that Mark made for his tennis meet today.

Opponents, team mates, families, wives...we all had a great time, hanging out after the meet (which they WON!).

#106/365 Choices, Choices

I want a new flag.

The hubs has his fave and I have mine and they are not the same one.

I'm thinking we could just get one of each.

I am also wondering if they won't disappear, when on display.

Everyone needs to have one of these.

#104/365 Baaad FibroDay

Even the soles of my feet hurt, throbbing, pulsing. ugh

The trigger points in my neck and shoulders are the palpable-size of olives.

The headache is numbing.

The mind-fog is debilitating.

All because I sat for 4 hours on a hard, locker-room style bench, mostly without moving, at the concert last night.

Repetitive, overuse of my muscles is like poison, leading to burning, burning, nonstop pain.

This is the worst I have been, maybe for years.

The other contributing factor is the fact that it has been 8 weeks since my last therapeutic massage. I have learned the hard way to have one massage per month (plus taking all my meds and stretching and moving). By doing so, I will keep this misery at bay.

I forgot that I must take care of this body or I will pay for it.

I still have fibro, even though (thankfully) most days I pretty much forget about it.

Not today.

No. Today, I could not forget.

#103/365 After this, I stopped taking pictures

This is Caleb and Will Franklin Chapman. They did a great job.

They opened for Tenth Avenue North, who also did a great job.

Tenth Avenue North opened for Casting Crowns, who also did a great job.

For a Tuesday night in Iowa, this is pretty spectacular stuff.

Can't wait for eternity. It will be quite a party.

#102/365 9 Days with BP Meds. and *This* is What I Get?

Old woman that I am, I am simply compelled to discuss my declining health, complete with photos of my BP readings. ha

This AM, I showed up FIRST at the lab to have my fasting blood work: lipid panels, thyroid stuff (not a medical term), some other stuff (shrugs) and lastly, a ::ahem:: 'specimen' was collected.

Whee-ha. (rolls eyes--again)

#101/365 My Pitiful Berm

A few spectacular bursst of spring color and the rest is a mangey mess. I wish it looked nicer. I wish I knew what to do to make it look nicer. I wish I liked digging in the dirt.

Nah. I wish I'd win the lottery and I'd hire it done. :D

Number 100!! Only 265 more to go. LOL

Here is what was in the little present from the this post.

Picture me, Tuesday night, one of hundreds (thousands?), next to my friend, Hollie (from this post) worshiping the King of Kings with Casting Crowns. Hollie gave me my ticket!! Isn't that sweet of her? I'll have to buy her a coke. Or a Tshirt. Or dinner.

Or all three!

All I know is we will be having waaay too much fun for a 'school night'. ha

#99/365 Ones of These Things, is Not...

Like the others...

So, she had to take our matchy-matchy pictures.

I present one intern (left), one Early Childhood Special Educator (center--deskmate and friend) and moi in our Early Childhood Center.

#96/365 CollegeBoy's Artwork

Nitrous Oxide? Nah.

Only something in an IV causes a Boy/Man to draw like this.

Football + fundraising + a "Wartburg money flower tree" and add in a Nike 'swoosh' and you've got a materpiece!

#95/365 On My Nightstand, Making Me Happy

My girl made this arrangement for me for Easter. Aren't they lovely? I had never seen lavender calla lilies before...

I heart that kid.
