#90/365 Using What God Gave Her

This is something I saw today.

Any ideas what it is?

This is a better clue about WHAT it is, but WHERE did I see it?

Answer: This is what a teacher had placed in her sensory table in her classroom.

Bragging rights to whomever can tell me what *it* is called.

Double points if you can accurately described the smell of this (shudders) STUFF, using the most frequent word heard at the preschool today. (gag)

#89/365 Sand Dollar

So cool, huh?

What causes them to turn the whitewhite color I typically see? The sun?

Anyone know?

#88/365 I would drive back there for more (if I could remember where I was)

Ribs in a cup? We must be in Mississippi.

I doubt I could find the place again, but oh my!! These were so good and needed no sauce. As a matter of fact, I think saucing them might be a sin.

#86/365 Now, I'm no Dr., but....

Reading one.

Reading two.

Reading three.
Reading four.

Bummer, huh?

Dr. appt. (follow up) is Friday. I'm guessing that medication is in my future. ::sigh::

#85/365 I Did All I Could Do...

I bought and drank some of my Purple Cow, an Iowa-made wine.

And here we are in our Panther Pride purple shirts (we even wore them to work today).

But, the University of Northern Iowa's NCAA Sweet 16 game will be their last this season. They lost 59-52 to Michigan State.

I feel sad for them, but wow! what a season they had. We weren't able to watch the first two rounds of the tournament, since we were on vacay and we are sort of bummed about that, since the games were reportedly a*maz*ing.

And not to be an armchair coach or anything, but I can tell you EXACTLY why they lost's because we watched.

We jinxed them. :)

#84/365 Star Spangled Banner

The flag that flies over Fort Pickens on Pensacola Beach.

Oh, how we love this land.

And how we pray for its preservation.

#83/365 (late) One Week Ago...

We were doing this sort of thing.

And I'd love to be back.

Fluff Interruption

This is my senator's response to yesterday's ::ahem:: "happenings on the Hill".

I am proud to be an Iowan tonight.

Thank you, Senator Grassley.

This means a lot.

#81/365 Wish I was there...

Fun place, just down the road from where we stay on the beach...

Where I can eat this to my hearts content.

Behold! The oyster sampler platter.

(the heavens part; the angels sing)

#79/365 (late) My Happy Place

Mark took this from the balcony of our 15th floor condo.

It was C-C-Cold.

#78/365 Ready or Not...Time to Go Home

I surely have had a wonderful time at the beach, with my husband, doing a whole lotta nothing.

#76/365 Oh, Blackwater...

We went canoeing in Blackwater State Park. Ir was lovely.

The water was clear (why the name? IDK), the bottom was sandysoft, but the temperature was a tad chilly for Spring Break. I even wore my fleece. Dang Global Warming. ha

Introducing...Miss Adelaide Ila!

The first time we saw her preciousness.

So sweet.

She was born last week ::ahem::, but I could NOT for the LIFE of me, figure out how to get her photos off my cell phone and onto my computer. Her dad is a computer guy, an IT dude, so---oh, the irony! haha

Miss Addy was born last Monday, in Tennessee, the first child of Mark's second son, Nathan and his wife, Amber. She was 8 lbs., 5 ozs. and was 21.5 inches long.

We happily welcome her to the world and look forward to meeting her.

#75/365 InSpiRaTion

Tomorrow's fun was inspired by these Iowans.

Anyone know who they are or what they do? :D

#74/365 BAM went the Backwoods 'Bama (ra)Coon on my Bumper

#73/365 Exploring

The view from Fort Pickens, looking west, at sunset.

The road to the fort has been washed out since the back to back hurricanes, Ivan and Opal, so Mark has not been out here before. He loved it!

We will go back again to explore in the daytime. I love getting to show him things from my childhood (and having him love them, too).

#72/365 Excuses, Excuses...

We arrived at our vacation destination after 11:00 PM. After unloading the van, we were pretty tuckered out.

It wasn't until my head hit the pillow and I was on the verge of falling asleep, that I remembered that I hadn't posted my Project 365.

And then, it was all "Spring Forward" and so, it was really after 1 AM and blah blah blah...

I was too tired to care.

So, two posts today to make up for it and to get back on track.

Forgive me? :D

#71/365 That Sweet Face

We have to leave this face behind tomorrow, as we head out for our 3rd consecutive Spring Break trip to Pensacola.

Boo-hoo..., but oh well. LOL

Let the wild rumpus begin!!

#70/365 Beach Ready, Monkey Feet

Love my pedi.

Dear Daughter and I had the fun of a pedi together by our favorite nail dude. He's goood.

Don't mind the Monkey Toes (or the unidentifiable brown shadow-y thing on the right?).

Well, well, well...look what was under all the mountains of snow.

Unbelievable. ::snort::

Anyone wanna be our neighbors?

#68/365 Reminder

Every evening at 8 PM, my crackberry chimes to remind me to pray for our troops and their families.

Who says those annoying chain emails are good for nothing?

#65/365 Well, *that* can't be good...

The handle to my parking brake just came right off in my hand! ha

A quick trip to the dealer and they had me on my way.

Cost to release my emergency brake, in my emergency? FREE.

Cost to replace the cable involved? $150.00

200K miles and she's starting to show her age. Boooo!

#64/365 Numbers as Fashion Advice

This number makes me happy. It's above freezing! It's sunny. It's March. Spring cannot be far away.

And once Spring is on it's way....

Skinny jeans and flats rule the day (even when standing in the snowy driveway)!!

Whoot! I love me some foot freedom. :D

#63/365 We still miss him

It has been almost 8 months since Mark's dad passed away, secondary to a fall. Prior to the fall, Dick was healthy, but getting older. His fall and subsequent passing were unexpected and although we are glad he did not appear to suffer, he is still missed.

I am, we are, so thankful for a faith that believes that we will all be together again, for eternity. What a gift.

This Isabel Bloom angel sits on our hearth in remembrance of Mark's dad. I love that she reminds me of him, whenever I glance over at her.
