4/365 Clarity

Oh, how we love our dog, Scout. Scout is the first dog my husband has ever, ever owned. He is smitten. I am, too, truth be told.

Our dog was adopted from the local humane society. Lulu (the youngest of our, combined, 6 kids) begged for a dog and we caved.

Now, where is that child? Why, she is living on her own at college. And where is the dog? Why, peeing all over our living room. haha

In light of the recent extreme cold, no, make that EXTREME COLD!!!, Scout has taken a shine to eliminating in our home. Yeah. Nice. (eye roll)

We have taken her to the doggie doctor. She has been on an antibiotic for an assumed ::ahem:: 'condition' and according to our vet, this condition can now be assumed to be cleared. Except, well, the problem continues.

So, what are a couple of clueless, semi-neurotic, newbie dog owners to do? Here are the options: 1). put the dog to sleep 2). lock the dog in the kennel all day 3). live and let live and let the pee fall where it may. That's all we could come up with, as we contemplated heading off to work this AM, leaving the dog alone in the house for the first time since Christmas break. Hmmmmm....

But wait! My MacGuyver is on the case. Here he comes to save the daaayyyyy!!!

Scout: I don't know what's going on here, but I don't think I like it....

Any guesses as to what we tried??

Scroll down for the answer....

Clarifying Moment #1. Dogs are people, too. No-one wants to potty outside when it is subzero.

Clarifying Moment #2. Dogs are people, too. No-one wants to wear ugly boots, even if they do keep your feet, er... paws warm.

ROFL...... I thought they were little diapers. Maybe try that next. When I went to college, I left my mother with 15 cats. She was thrilled......not.

you didn't buy the designer boots? Seriously, there are boots for rough terrain, boots for stylin, etc. :) You could go high tech! :)

Dear Eureka1951 (who was supposed to be all anonymous and secretive, but now has posted a PHOTO of herself, alongside her name---lol):

Of course, it's from TKAM!! Best book ever written (second to the Bible). :)

Where is my picture? I'm too old for all this modern technology? And I don't care who knows who I am! LOL!!! Terynn - I wasn't trying to be secretive or anonymous. Only on Ebay (eureka1951) if I sell you something you don't like. haha

TKAM? Yes, my favorite book and movie!!! They don't make 'em like they used to!

awww..... you're so sweet and thoughtful to think of Scout's little feet. I feel so sad for all the animals that are out in the cold....
